Countdown to Christmas - Day 6

Day 6: The Centre of Attention

6.jpg

Do you ever feel that your stories and anecdotes get drowned out by that one particularly loud family member who dominates the conversation over the Christmas period with their seemingly constant drivel?

Perhaps this is the year to take control and ensure it’s your stories that are the talk of the table.

Try filling your festive tales and anecdotes with human examples – we all love to hear stories about other people and things that we can relate to.

And, as with media interviews and presentations, if you are going to use facts and figures put them into context.

So, when you quote a number you might add something like ‘…and that’s the equivalent of ten elephants’ (to all round gasps of amazement) before staking your claim for the evening on the comfiest chair and basking in your new found ‘interesting’ status.

We’d love to hear your tales of when your media skills have saved the day or helped you out of a potentially awkward situation in your personal life. Let us know on adam@mediafirst.co.uk.
