FAQS
Frequently asked questions.
How is your presentation skills training different from other public speaking courses?
Many public speaking courses focus almost entirely on delivery.
Our approach goes much further. We help participants understand their audience, develop clear messages, use storytelling effectively, structure presentations logically and communicate with confidence and impact. Presentation delivery is important, but it is only one part of influencing an audience.
Training combines realistic practice, expert coaching and personalised feedback. Participants work on the challenges they actually face, whether that involves board presentations, client pitches, conference speaking, town hall events or internal communication.
Can you help people who are confident presenters as well as those who are nervous?
Yes.
Some participants join the training because they feel nervous about presenting. Others are already experienced presenters who want to become more engaging, influential or impactful.
The programme is tailored around the individual and the situations they face. For some people, the focus may be confidence and delivery. For others, it may be executive presence, storytelling, audience engagement, thought leadership, handling questions or influencing senior stakeholders.
Can we use our own presentations during the training?
Absolutely.
In fact, we encourage it whenever possible.
Working with genuine presentations, keynotes, pitches, conference sessions or stakeholder briefings makes the training more relevant and immediately useful. Participants receive feedback on content, structure, delivery, audience engagement and impact, helping them improve presentations they are genuinely preparing to deliver. This bespoke approach is central to how we design our courses.
How do you help people handle difficult questions and audience challenges?
Questions are often the most unpredictable part of a presentation.
We help participants prepare for Q&A sessions, respond confidently when challenged and maintain credibility when they do not immediately have all the answers. Depending on the audience and objectives, training may also incorporate techniques drawn from our media training programmes, helping participants stay composed when facing difficult or unexpected questions.
The goal is not to avoid challenging conversations but to help presenters respond clearly and confidently when they occur.
We have delegates with very different confidence levels. Should they attend together?
It depends on the objectives and the participants.
Mixed groups can work well because people learn from observing different presentation styles and levels of experience. Less experienced presenters often benefit from seeing how experienced speakers prepare and respond to audience questions.
However, there are times when separate groups or one-to-one coaching are more effective. Senior leaders, keynote speakers and high-profile presenters may require a different level of challenge, confidentiality or coaching focus.
We regularly deliver a combination of group learning and individual coaching where that provides the best outcome. This reflects our broader bespoke approach to training design.
Can you help people prepare for keynote speeches, conferences and panel events?
Yes.
Many participants come to us because they are preparing for an important conference presentation, keynote speech, panel discussion, investor presentation, industry event or internal leadership communication.
Training can focus on message development, storytelling, audience engagement, stage presence, handling questions and delivering complex information with clarity and impact. Exercises can be built around the event itself, helping participants prepare for situations they are genuinely about to face.
What support do delegates receive after the training?
Learning continues beyond the training session.
Delegates receive detailed written feedback and can continue their development through Media First's Members' Area, which contains additional learning resources and ongoing professional development materials. They also receive 30 days' complimentary access to Thirty Seven, our AI-powered communication coach.
The objective is to help participants continue refining their communication skills long after the course has finished.
