Countdown to Christmas - Day 8

Day 8: Decorations

8.jpg

We all have our own ideas when it comes to Christmas decorations - flamboyant, garish, understated or stylish. Most of us have a view and a particular way and time that we like things done. Personally if the Christmas tree lights are still working by the time I’ve dragged them out of the loft I know it’s going to be a good year.

However, if your neighbour’s 10 ft. inflatable snowman has been dominating the skyline since mid November, perhaps you could borrow a technique from your media training to bring him round to your way of thinking.

Using examples to reinforce your point is always helpful, so pointing liberally at the neighbourhoods more tasteful displays, throwing in lines such as “Well Mabel’s got it right again this year” may help make your point.

Failing that a night mission with a sharp pin is always a viable option

We’d love to hear your tales of when your media skills have saved the day or helped you out of a potentially awkward situation in your personal life. Let us know on adam@mediafirst.co.uk.
