LAWRENCE McGINTY

Lawrence is the Science Editor for ITN. During his career he has won many awards including, 2 BAFTAS for Channel Four News and Best News for Outside Broadcast and 2 RTS awards for the best sports news report for the coverage of the drugs scandal at the Barcelona Olympics and the Kings Cross disaster. Lawrence was awarded the Science Writer's Fellowship of the Association of British Science Writers and has the Queen's silver jubilee medal for his work on the New Scientist.

DOMINIC GREEN

Dominic is an excellent addition to the Media First team as an all round journalist tutor. Having started his career as a print journalist Dominic moved into radio and TV, winning the BBC Young Journalist of the Year Award in 1990. He currently works regularly for BBC News, Sky News, Reuters, the Trinity-Mirror Group and GMTV in reporting, presenting and senior producing roles. He has worked as a correspondent at home and abroad reporting on everything from the death of the Princess of Wales to the OJ Simpson trial.

IAN AXTON

Ian, a producer and presenter at Meridian in Southampton, is currently on secondment to ITN in London. He has ten years experience in radio news as presenter, controller and news editor. He has won many awards and is a former BT Southern News Broadcaster of the Year. Ian also has experience in business having been Chief Executive of a company owning and operating eleven radio stations in the south of England.

JEFF PRESTRIDGE

Jeff became Personal Finance Editor for the Mail on Sunday in 1994 having previously been the Deputy Editor for Money Management (1987 - 1990) and the Personal Finance Editor for The Sunday Telegraph (1990 - 1994). He has been the winner of numerous awards for the quality of his personal finance journalism and in particular his campaigning journalism.

SIMON BROOKE

Simon writes regularly for the Times, The Financial Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Express and Business Life magazine on a variety of subjects varying from business and management to education, food and the environment.

In 1989 Simon became Head of Broadcasting for the Conservative Central Office; this involved fielding ministers and Party Chairman for interviews on television and radio along with media training for prominent politicians.

DEBORAH HALL - presentations, image and impact

Trained with BBC TV as a broadcaster and journalist Presents The Law Channel and The Accountants' Channel for the Einstein Network.

Has chaired many conferences for, amongst others, the Home Office, the Law Society, the Royal and Sun Alliance Chaired the launches of the NHS Plan and the New Deal for the government.

Is also the media trainer for public health professionals in the UK and internationally.

Our History

Media First was established seventeen years ago, and is exclusively engaged in specialist communications training for Private and Public-Sector organisations. This includes media training, presentation skills training and press release writing.

Part of the Sterling Consultancy Group of Companies, it operates alongside Associated Training and can offer a wide range of professional training and development resources.
