British Medical Association

It is now considered essential in any organisation to know not only how to manage the mainstream media but to understand the power of new media, how to communicate your key messages online, how to control that message in a 'non-regulated' environment and to understand what the implications are for your organisation once you get involved.

Media First was asked by the British Medical Association to design a programme that would help them to do just this. The BMA's objective was to inform and communicate more effectively with their members online.

As the leading, independent trade union for doctors and medical students in the UK, it was becoming increasingly important to the association to develop an efficient and convenient way of providing up to date information to its members which they could then easily access.

With the help of our tutor Graham Jones the communications team learned how to produce their own podcast, set up and write their own blog as well as how to successfully manage their online reputation.
